Whew! Well, in the blink of an eye Thanksgiving has already come and gone. Our's was a good one. Mostly because we got to spend lots of time with family, both at big group get-togethers and the occasional quiet moment for our little family of three. The food was as festive and delicious as ever, and it was great to just have some peaceful time to relax with everyone.
Since we're lucky enough to live close to both of our parents and lots of extended family our Thanksgiving stretched into a multiple day celebration as we made the rounds from house to house. Some might see these holiday obligations as something of a burden, but as I see it: twice the obligations equals twice the turkey, and you can't tell me that's a bad thing.
It should not come as a big surprise that most of our pictures of this holiday center around our son. It's pretty much how we do things around here, and if you haven't figured that out by now perhaps it's time to move it along.
Anyway. Presenting the Jones Abode Thanksgiving 2008...

greetings fellow turkey eaters! it does look like you had a great Thanksgiving holiday! it is always good to see the family...Jen's side that is. sorry rob, nothing personal. i hear your family is terrific. but i do miss seeing the ole crew!
We miss seeing you, too, Lisa. Any chance you'll be in the neighborhood around Christmas this year? We got a chance to see Randy and Linda at our annual traditional Day-After-Thanksgiving-See-Santa-Come-To-Town Get-Together at Lynn and Bob's. That was fun, and I remember when you guys were there and we got zeps from Eve's in Norristown....Shawn knew about Eve's.
Anyway, back to Aiden on the blog...Thankskgiving WAS fun, Phil and Carol look great, and Aiden was the cutest little turkey ever!
XO
I forgot to mention that we loved seeing Rhianwen and Mike at your little abode on Saturday. It's good to see that they both are doing well in spite of the uncertainty and trials of the past 6 months or so. I'm sure you guys packed alot into the several hours you were able to spend together. We miss them, too. They don't live far from Jay and Melody. Small world. XO
It is great to see pictures of your Thanksgiving, everyone looks wonderful as usual. Wish I could have been there with you but look forward to celebrating Christmas together!
hi ruthann! (sorry rob and jen to use the Jones Abode as a public message board) No. we're not coming north for Christmas. We typically stay in NC for the holidays. Too much chaos and all to come up. We enjoy coming in the summer when it's more relaxed and WARM. makes for better quality visits. plus this (nc) really is home now and we want the boys to have memories in their own home and all. but...we the door is always open to family during the holidays if they like!
yes, i remember the d-town black friday get together. funny you mention that. i meant to peep in on the ole Doylestown camera to see if i could see you all. but alas, i forgot. sigh. oh well, best intentions, of course.
you must fuss over lil aiden quite a bit. he sure is a cutie pie to say the least! enjoy him.
love, Lisa
zeps...yum. i could go for one of those right now. they do NOT have good hoagies down here. don't even know what one is, actually. sigh.
I love seeing pics from the Weidner Thanksgiving! What a special time. The pecan pie looks delicious! We were extra special thankful to see you guys too! You are such blessings to us. And I'm glad you got a photo of us with Aiden smiling! The video I have is of him crying because he didn't want to go in the jumper thing. I still don't know how to take him out without another person! lol. Miss you three. xo
