Huh?

I just read the breaking news story in regards to our Philadelphia Phillies landing uber-ace Roy Halladay in a deal that includes sending super-stud Cliff Lee to the Seattle Mariners...

Ummm... where to start?  

As if its not enough that my world has been turned upside down by this mind bending scenario, I also read that Roy Halliday is right now booked into a Philadelphia hotel, which is quite possibly (although almost certainly not) the very same hotel where we are currently staying!

My brain may literally explode.

I feel as though we've a little negligent with our picture posting recentely.  Well we're working on it, and with Christmas coming up so soon I am sure that we will be having a deluge of pictures to post in the near future.  

In the meantime however, here are some recent pictures from around the house.  I think this started out by me trying to take a few shots of the Christmas tree, but as usual Aiden turned out to be a bit of a distraction.

Pile o' Fun

I guess jumping into leaf piles is a form of entertainment that is ingrained into our DNA because the other day while doing some yard cleanup Aiden decided, with no prompting from us, to just dive right in.  He seemed to be having a grand ol time, and eventually Bailey even joined in the fun.

Mommy?

This is a video of Aiden showing off some of his letter skills.  As a bonus, at the end of the video he refers to a certain well known, female teen singing sensation as "mom."

Priceless.

It should be noted that Aiden also recentley saw a picture of Morgan Freeman and said, "Pop-Pop."  

So... I'd say his facial recognition is a little suspect at this point.

Fans for Life

After the hooplah of last year's fairy tale ending, the conclusion to the 2009 World Series was a tough pill to swallow.  We were hoping for a miracle, but instead we'll have to settle for a season filled with great memories... just without a championship trophy at the end.

Looking at this team, who holds so much of our collective admiration, it's hard to find any fault or lay any blame.  What a pleasure it has been watching them play out the season with such guts and gusto.  If only every year and every team were so entertaining.

One of the things I love about baseball is the way that even when you lose, there is always another game tomorrow.  Another chance to turn things around, to pick up the pieces, to make things right.  And now, finally, when the very last game has actually been played, it's good to know that another season already looms on the horizon.  And, speaking for the fans in this house, when the time comes around to start all over again- we'll be ready.

Still Believing...

Well Phils fans, its come to this: Tonight the fate of the Phillies season will rest on the very capable shoulders of ace pitcher Cliff Lee.  If anyone is capable of turning this thing around it's this guy, and win or lose, there is no one I would rather see step onto the mound for the Fightins then him.  

Go get 'em Phils.
