On Monday he drove down to the Philadelphia Zoo to take advantage of our new "Zoo Membership" (thanks Mom and Dad!) We had a beautiful, not too hot, day to wander the paths and check out the animals. One thing we discovered is that zoo animals, like us, enjoy a nice afternoon nap. So lots of the animals were either lounging, dozing, or actually snoring, but they were still fun to look at! Here are some pictures from the day:

The last animal we saw was Aiden's favorite, and one of our's too. The Polar Bears! Unlike with some of the others, Aiden really watched the Polar Bear and seemed interested in him.
So we had a great first trip to the Zoo, even though we didn't get to do some of the fun things like the bird building and the monkey house. Maybe next time!

You guys had a beautiful day to visit the zoo. Aiden looked like he was having a good time. I think he was taking it all in. After all, it was the first time he saw most of those animals. I really would love to know what he was thinking as he watched them.
Hey, Rhianwen, have you and Mike been to the San Diego Zoo yet? I hear it's pretty amazing! We weren't able to fit that in when we were in Calif. last summer. Maybe nest time?!

at the top of the pictures he labeled yaks and the pumas, he put a picture of me under each, and it looked like he was calling me that :-) I am just kidding of course
