A few days ago we had the first big snowfall since celebrating Aiden's birthday, which meant that it was our first chance to put his cool, new sled into action. And, as promised, here are some pictures documenting Aiden's snowy adventure.
Keep in mind, there is not much of a slope to our yard so high-speed, luge-style sledding this was not. It was more like a backyard Iditarod except that instead of dogs pulling the sled it was us, and the only dog present kept trying to jump in to the sled.
As you'll see in the pictures (and in the action packed video) Aiden was pretty stoic throughout the whole experience. At the end we did manage to squeeze a little smile out of him, but for the most part he just sat there looking like a tiny Vietnam War veteran.
Enjoy...

Aiden didn't look too excited about his first sled ride, but at least there were no tears! Maybe nest year he'll enjoy it more....if not, maybe the next...
Love you, Aiden. Yor're cute even when you're not having lots of fun! XO
You have to build up to those hills, Aiden. Come over to Grandma and Grandpa's next time and we will shoot you down the hill - away from the pond! We love you!!
Aiden looks like he keeps asking, "Mom and Dad, is this supposed to be fun?" He'll figure it out soon enough, once he gets an icy hill and some saucers.
Aiden:
You look like you were on a polar expadition. I think I saw a polar bear luking in the backround, or was Bailey?
Maybe the next time it will be more fun.
LOL
POP POP
what fun! although aiden looks like he wants a steeper hill...say a double black diamond? lol
i don't think you have to worry about Aiden wanting a career in Xtreme sports or anything. It doesn't seem to be something he will aspire to.
So cute.
The first picture of jen and aiden in his post is priceless. You will have to compare the expression on his face to his "before prom photo" in 15 years
I just realized you can read and post on this site. Am I behind or what?! The video of Aiden sledding is great. I think that the experience proves that he is very cool kid, maybe his thoughts were "heck, I am one year old and I am already WAY to cool to be sledding mom and dad." We'll have to ask him in a few years what he was really thinking:)
